The Key West Cottage
This was the home of Sunny Griffin, the fisherman for whom the compound is named. He was one of the first two fishermen to bring shrimping to Southwest Florida from South Carolina. Sunny was a true southern gentleman and the partner for a time of one of the Griffin's current occupants. Key West Cottage was the first building brought up to the current standard of construction: first in 1991 and then redone after hurricane Charlie. It is marvelously comfortable and a perfect example of Southwest Florida vernacular architecture. The cottage is surrounded by glorious gardens and art.
